At Tres Cadires, we are a cooperative focused on local development, which is why everything we do is done with the aim of supporting our region and its people. And we do so by working along two clear lines: agroecology and the social and solidarity economy, even though for us they are inseparable. Here we present the main projects we have undertaken, usually in collaboration with other like-minded initiatives.

Within the framework of the “Ruralitats Comunitàries” project, we have conducted a range of activities to promote agroecological production facilities (including the new specific call for projects for EL SALT , improvements made to the websites ObradorsCompartits.cat i agroecologiaenxarxa.cat, the video “obradors agroquè?“, the guide “Els obradors agroecològics com a eina de dinamització local“, support for marketing and funding, etc.).

La Branda
La Branda
Our country had lost its distilling culture, especially in terms of doing so co-operatively, artisanally and with a focus on the circular economy. Thus emerged La Branda, a co-operative distillery that offers wineries the possibility of turning their often discarded grape pomace into a new line of business.
Located in L’Albi (Les Garrigues) and fully operational since early 2024.
Tres Cadires is a co-founder and partner.

Proveïm-nos per a Transformar
Proveïm-nos per a Transformar
A project aimed at advancing toward alcohol sovereignty that explored how to locally and co-responsibly cultivate and transform some of the ingredients required by alcoholic beverage initiatives. It included studying the feasibility of setting up a malt house to supply craft breweries, studying and pilot testing the cultivation of different wild plants, and researching the production of whisky using local malts.

A project to promote and replicate Tres Cadires’s Community Supported Enterprise model at three other projects. To find and choose these projects, we opened a public call for projects with criteria for participation and evaluation.
The winning projects are provided with turnkey management software and receive support in the creation of their own community supported enterprise and its first outreach and membership campaign.

Vall del Corb
Vall del Corb
We provide support for this association that brings together producers, manufacturers, artisans, restaurateurs, rural accommodations and shops, as well as organisations and individuals in love with La Vall.
Created in spring 2000, we joined the association in 2021 to professionalise a range of tasks that until then had been performed on a voluntary basis. The main areas in which we work are networked producers, communication and territory, and culture, landscape and society. The goals of the association are to: support the development of La Vall, revitalise its municipalities, preserve its heritage and landscape, sustainably promote its values and possibilities, and create quality activities and research to strengthen inhabitants’ appreciation for their region.

A web app designed so that agroecological producers can share distribution routes. It resulted from a call for projects by the Federation of Worker Co-operatives of Catalonia (Federació de Cooperatives de Treball de Catalunya [FCTC]) to which Ponent Coopera submitted a project with Tres Cadires acting as the main applicant. Moreover, Tres Cadires managed the project from start to finish, including diagnosis, implementation and final report.

Mengem Ponent
Mengem Ponent
The COVID-19 pandemic brought about the need to create a network of small local producers. Thus arose the Mengem Ponent initiative, a non-profit service co-operative that markets and distributes products from Ponent to the end customer.
At Tres Cadires, we were a key promotor of the project, coordinating it until the current coordinator was hired, and we are currently on the governing body.

ObradorsCompartits.cat
A project led by Tres Cadires to create a meeting point for shared production facilities and their potential users. This initiative acts as a facilitator, encouraging the use of existing shared production facilities and supporting the creation of new ones.
It offers detailed information about each production facility and includes FAQs and resources to centralise all existing information on the topic and resolve common questions. It was developed with the support of a group of experts on the topic.
At Tres Cadires, we also manage the “obradors compartits” Telegram group and offer a two-hour course on the topic.

Paisatges Cooperatius
In the framework of the “Paisatges Cooperatius” project, we work to explain and replicate Tres Cadires’s Community Supported Enterprise model. We developed the ComunitatsCorresponsables.cat website, wrote the manual for creating community supported enterprises, and supported the development of the community supported enterprise model at the Pontelana co-op.

Ponent Coopera
Ponent Coopera, the alliance of co-operatives of Lleida, is a tool to promote and support the social and solidarity economy in the Ponent region. Within the framework of the network of alliances of co-operatives of Catalonia (Xarxa d’Ateneus Cooperatius de Catalunya), it seeks to promote the creation and consolidation of new transformative economic initiatives and create quality employment opportunities.
At Tres Cadires, we were among its key promoters, have served as its coordinator since the second year, and are on its governing body.

“Món Pagès, Terra Cooperativa” is a collaborative project that conducted a comparative study of various local agroecological ecosystems around Catalonia, analysing them through the lens of the social and solidarity economy. At Tres Cadires, we were responsible for conducting the project in the Ponent region.
